About The School of Effective Teaching podcast
The School of Effective Teaching is a podcast dedicated to the topic of Effective Teaching. The topics are not limited to any particular grade level, elementary, middle or high, however, teachers will find that some strategies are more effective with a certain age group than with others.
Though the world of education is full of reform movements, the basic truth is that no true change in education will happen until what happens in the classroom changes. And, we want those changes to be positive and productive. We, as educators, need to become more effective in the classroom. Not because that what politicians are calling for, but because it is the right thing for our students.
Since this podcast series is dedicated to effective teaching, I should define “effective” so everyone is using the same terms. It is a very simple and basic definition. Effective means that we are able to facilitate a student’s fuller understanding of the content. It is not about teaching. We can teach but students don’t necessarily learn. Effectiveness is measured by student learning.
This podcast series is dedicated to helping teachers better help their students learn.
I value your feedback as to the content of the podcasts, quality of the podcasts and suggestions for future podcasts. Of great interest to me is feedback from teachers who implement strategies suggested in the podcast.
With permission, I would like to share those stories on air.
